Woolwich Print Fair, 2024
Eleanor May Watson, Amelie Peace, Colette Lavette and Martha Lamont
20th - 24th of October
Soho Revue Editions are delighted to present works by four artists at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, November 20-24th 2024. This is the 8th iteration of the fair, which has fast become a world-leading platform for contemporary print and a hub for the UK’s community of studios and printmakers. We are so excited to take part in this fair as our print studio’s collaborative practice with artists continues to develop and bloom.
We are presenting works by Eleanor May Watson, Amelie Peace, Colette Lavette and Martha Lamont at this year’s fair, as well as further editions (a recent monograph made with Lorena Lohr and unframed works in our browser). These four artists have engaged with the possibilities of printmaking in diverse ways. Amelie Peace embraces the theatrical potential of black and white, the rich tones of aquatint and the furtive scratches of drypoint in her erotica-inspired triptych. Using both first and ghost (second-pressing) monoprints to create eerie doublings, Colette Lavette and Martha Lamont fix the energy of their brush-marks into paper so that they seem to emerge from within it. Eleanor May Watson pushes and pulls across layers of multiple etching plates, tilting between abstraction and figuration through loose drawn marks and bold colour, submerging and revealing forms as she does so brilliantly with paint.
